Scouting during lockdown was difficult. However, grant awarding bodies recognised the challenge being faced by voluntary organisations and stepped into support. We were successful with two grant applications.
- We were awarded a ‘Magic Little Grant’ of £500 from the People’s Postcode Lottery to help us undertake out four ‘Eco projects’. We spent this money on wildflower seeds, litter pickers and building our community garden. With this award came a one year subscription to ‘Local Giving’, which we use in the new session to help with fundraising
- We were awarded £1000 from the ‘Tesco Bags of Help’ scheme to purchase modern equipment to enable us to undertake adventurous activities. We will spend this money on small tents and stoves to support our members to undertake expeditions.
We are grateful to both grant awarding bodies for their generous support. They have helped us to thrive during the difficult conditions linked to lockdown.
